Background
I search for beauty. Not just from what I see but also from what I feel. Beauty, to me, connects my inner self with the outer world, influencing how I think, feel, and interact with others. I feel lost without it. Every moment to me holds the potential for meaning, shaped by the presence of beauty.
Growing up as the youngest in my family, I spent a lot of time on my own. I’d hang out for hours in the garden, taking in all the sights, sounds, and textures around me. Noticing the small wonders around me, how they interact with each other and how they respond to touch, aromas, storms, and winds inspired me. I was happiest just watching these tiny creatures doing their thing, playing with my pets, watching the bright-colored flowers in the garden or just lounging around the tree. I felt safe. Even now, my mind drifts back to those memories, and I find beauty in the most unexpected places.
Painting allows me to reconnect with my feelings and thoughts I sometimes forget they exist. I am drawn to nature not just for its richness, but for the way it expresses resilience, harmony, and change. When I observe nature, I feel a sense of bond between humans and the powerful force of beauty found in the natural world.
I draw on my memories, translating the connection I felt with something alive and always changing into colors, shapes, and brushstrokes. My goal with painting is to share that same sense of wonder and comfort that nature has always given me, bringing a little of the curiosity and joy I had as a child into every piece.
My fascination with both nature and the complexities of human emotions inspire me to explore the relationship between people and nature in my work. Nature gives me a vocabulary to understand and articulate feelings through beauty. I continue to experiment with different methods and techniques to tap into my subconscious, expressing personal experiences and complex emotions through my work. I hope to create conversations that connect with audiences from different backgrounds across different cultures. For I believe that beauty lives within us and through nature I realize how much my existence depends on it.
